Today was an exciting day in the whole process of putting Great Golf Down Under together. Andrew Cunningham, Paul Daley and myself spent a few hours at Splitting Image - a color management company that produced our final proofs for the book prior to them heading overseas to be printed.

This was an eye opening experience and one that required meticulous attention to detail. If you can picture leaving one mistake on an image and then having this replicated over our complete print run of 5,000 books! Not something you want to be overlook. I learnt a lot during this process - picking up everything from smudge marks in the skies of certain images through to incorrect captioning of images and maps without numbered references.
Take a look at the images below and you will see some examples of the kind of areas we need to look at and fix up. Each of the yellow tags on the book pages represents and area which needs to be looked at again.

A key part of our production of Great Golf Down Under was the production of a number of customised jackets for different golf clubs featuring an image of their course. This was something very popular amongst members and resulted in a far amount of advance sales - something very important in the book selling game!
