Talk about good timing! I have been at Barnbougle Dunes taking photos of the new course - The Lost Farm which is due to open in October 2010. It is going to be a wonderful course and my belief is that it will be better than the original course (which is saying something!).
Tonight when I was out taking photos of the Lost Farm (along with Phil - the very friendly and capable course superintendent) we looked up into the sky and hovering above us was a helicopter. Always being one to grab an opportunity we motioned for the helicopter to land - certainly not expecting him to do so. But down he came and we saw the pilot was Greg Crick - owner of Launceston Honda. He asked us if we wanted to go up for a ride and we both jumped at the opportunity. Before taking off we unhinged the door (much easier to get better aerial photos without a door (just don't think about this when yuo are up there!) and then got strapped in.
We then spent about 20 minutes flying over both courses and I managed to capture some great images of the Lost Farm and the original course. I can't show you any images of the new course yet (nothing is being released at this time) however I will be posting some images of the original course in the next little while.
Take a look back to see Barnbougle from the sky - a great place to be!
